HUDSON COMMUNITY FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES FIRST GRANTS OF 2009
Hudson, Ohio – June 30, 2009 – The Hudson Community Foundation announces its first round of grant giving for 2009. The mission of the Hudson Community Foundation is to preserve and enhance the quality of life for all citizens of Hudson, Ohio, now and for generations to come. Independently, the organization also provides citizens with a tax-wise, simple, inexpensive way to direct their giving to meet their own family goals through Donor Advised Funds (DAF) and other philanthropic options, such as endowments.
In keeping with its mission to support and develop the Arts and Culture of Hudson, HCF supported the following organizations and programs with gifts:
·
Hudson Players 65th anniversary season with a gift of $1,000;
·
Hudson Bandstand, which offers its Summer Music Festival with free music performances on Sunday evenings on the Green, with a gift of $1,000;
·
Actors’ Summit Theater, receiving $4,500 to establish a summer theater festival – “American Mirrors”. This summer there will be four productions in two locations as the theater’s first production of the annual festival in our community to develop Hudson as an arts destination.
HCF’s commitment to Youth Education and Recreation is reflected by donations to Hudson Community First in the amount of $2,500. Community First provides intergenerational support and values development for Hudson youth through three 2009 programs. They are Character Building Month (February), Ready, Set, Relax (March), and Take a Second Make a Difference Month (October.)
